SpirituallyThe Middle School period is unique in its characteristics, areas of growth and change, and areas of need—it is therefore vital that students are taught from a foundation of Biblical truth. This foundation of truth becomes the basis from which students develop a Biblical worldview. The primary means of accomplishing this is through what is at the heart of Kingdom education, the Biblical integration of God’s truth within every discipline and activity of the school. Our weekly Chapel time provides an opportunity for the students to join together in praise, worship, and growth. Outside speakers share messages which are applicable and challenging. Student and Faculty participation is strongly encouraged. AcademicallyCore subjects are Bible, math, language arts, science and social studies. In addition, students will take Latin, computer, LIFE, art, music, and PE/Health. Algebra I is offered for High School credit in the 8th grade to students who qualify. Textbooks and supplemental materials are chosen for their educational quality and developmental appropriateness. Our homework policy allows for an average of 1 to 1 1/2 hours of assigned work per evening in the 6th grade and 1 1/2 to 2 hours of assigned work per evening in the 7th and 8th grades. It is our desire to provide clear and consistent communication regarding Middle School course work, activities, and student progress. Each teacher has email and voicemail and is available at school until 4:00PM. Our RenWeb software program allows families internet access to grades, assignments and lesson plans at any time. SociallyStudent participation in school activities, events, class socials, and special interest clubs is encouraged. Students are able to participate in co-curricular activities such as band, choir, and a wide variety of sports. Students are provided with opportunities to participate in service projects both at school and within the surrounding community. There is a focus on training for leadership throughout the Middle School. In the 8th grade, students are given the opportunity to apply for participation in the Middle School Leadership Team.
