About Northern Columbia, SC

The Monticello Road campus is located on Columbia International University’s beautiful 400-acre campus.

Just east of the Broad River in the northern part of Columbia, South Carolina, the campus offers convenient access to I-20 and is still less than a 20-minute drive from historic downtown.

Monticello Road (pre-K3 to 12th grade) is one of three Ben Lippen School locations that serves families in the Columbia, South Carolina area. We also have campuses in northeast Columbia and St. Andrews Road (pre-K3 to fourth grade).

About the Monticello Road Campus

Ben Lippen School moved the high school program to the Monticello Road location in 1988. For added convenience, shuttle service between the Monticello Road and St. Andrews/Northeast campuses is available.

Our first-class facilities include designated classroom areas for lower, middle, and high school students. The Monticello Road campus also hosts international students in resident boarding houses in a scenic wooded area surrounding a small lake.

Campus highlights include the Arts and Science Center, Caswell Athletic Center and Dining Hall, Large Group Instruction Building, and Hathaway-Weeber Athletic Complex.

Incoming Middle School Students

Whether your child already attends the Monticello Road campus, or is coming from our St. Andrews or Northeast locations, we want to help ease the transition to middle school. 

Ben Lippen School hosts a “Move Up Day” event where fourth graders spend an afternoon at the Monticello Road campus. They’ll visit middle school classrooms, tour the campus, hear from teachers and administrators, and eat in the cafeteria. We also host a Parent Night for incoming middle school families.
