Our school offers a rigorous academic program anchored in a solid foundation of biblical truth. Our goal is to promote and help our students develop faith in Jesus Christ through academics, co-curricular activities, leadership development, and personal relationships. These are accomplished through committed faculty and staff who love Christ, love students, and love to teach a biblically-permeated curriculum.

You may be wondering who is “Ben Lippen?” Ben Lippen is not a person, but a way of life. In 1940, Columbia Bible College (CBC) founded a conference center and boarding school in the mountains near Asheville, N.C. The college chose a Scottish phrase, “ben lippen,” meaning “Mountain of Trust” as the name of the site. Today, as we look back through Ben Lippen School’s history, it remains our desire to trust the Lord and to impart that trust to our students.

After a fire destroyed part of the Asheville campus, Ben Lippen School was eventually moved to Columbia, S.C., where, since 1988, we have shared a beautiful 400-acre campus with Columbia International University (formerly CBC). Today Ben Lippen offers both a day school program for students in Pre-K3 to 12th grade, an Online Academy (The Crest Online), and an international student program for upper school age (grades 5-12) students, with a total enrollment of over 1130 students across three campuses.

It is our desire at Ben Lippen to do all that we do to glorify God and we believe this sets us apart from most schools. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic field, or on the stage, we want to do everything we do from a biblical perspective and with such quality that the Lord is pleased.

Plus, Ben Lippen students truly receive a global education of excellence. Our international student program draws approximately 30 students from 11 nations who thrive and collaborate with fellow day students in our upper school program. This exposure to other cultures, to the latest technology (as evidenced by our 1-to-1 Chromebook program in the upper school), to high-quality academic training, and to skills development through our athletic and arts programs, prepares our students to go on to higher education and adulthood prepared with 21st-century skills to impact the world for Christ.
