Alumni Spotlight: Allie Acuff, Class of 2021

After graduating from Ben Lippen in 2021, Allie Acuff moved to Charleston, SC, to attend the College of Charleston, where she majored in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health and Religious Studies. During her first week on campus, Allie connected with Campus Outreach, a ministry that would deeply shape her college experience and future calling.

Through Campus Outreach, Allie grew in her faith by delving deeper into God’s Word, developing a strong prayer life, learning to share her faith, and stepping into leadership. While she never imagined herself evangelizing in college by knocking on dorm room doors, she embraced the challenge and grew confident in communicating the message of the Gospel.

“Evangelism is for everyone. The Lord uses one-on-one connections to build His Kingdom,” Allie shares.

Over the next few years, Allie built meaningful friendships with students from a variety of backgrounds and belief systems, discovering that relationships and trust often open the door to Gospel conversations. While not every student was receptive, she discovered that many were searching for deeper meaning and truth, making college a uniquely fruitful mission field.

Allie’s involvement with Campus Outreach also stirred a deep passion for the nations. After participating in an four-week mission trip to Ghana, her heart for international ministry was confirmed. During her time there, she engaged in street evangelism, worship services, Bible studies, and life training sessions, all while adapting to a new culture, language, and way of life. A subsequent Missions Week at East Cooper Baptist Church in Charleston further reinforced her calling, as she came to understand that missions, just like evangelism, is also for everyone.

In January 2026, Allie will join a Campus Outreach team in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she will serve on a local college campus for two years. She will focus on building relationships with students, leading Bible studies, and participating in various campus activities. Allie will also be on staff with a local church, with the Campus Outreach ministry serving as an extension of the church’s outreach efforts.

Why South Africa? With a national median age of just 18 and a rapidly growing population, South Africa is a strategic location for ministry. According to Campus Outreach, 90% of religious conversions in the country occur before the age of 25. By reaching college students now, Allie and her team aim to cultivate a generation of Christ-centered leaders who will positively impact every sector of society across Africa.
