Alumni Spotlight: Sutton Satcher Barrow ’15

Sutton joined Ben Lippen in 6th grade when her family felt called to a Christ-centered education and a like-minded community, a decision that would shape her life in meaningful ways. During her time as a Falcon, she was involved in cheer, basketball, track, and student government.

One of her favorite memories was planning the very first Junior-Senior at the Ben Lippen gym.  And when she reflects on faculty who made a lasting impact, Christy Lambert immediately comes to mind:

“When Ben Lippen started the bus system, she drove to our neighborhood every morning to pick us up. I started each day with a good morning largely because of her!”

After graduating, Sutton studied Communication and Nonprofit Leadership at Clemson University, then jumped right into a fast-paced role on a gubernatorial campaign. The experience stretched her, grew her confidence, and prepared her for what was next. She later joined her family’s company, Softdocs, which led her to Nashville, a bit of a “scary” move, considering she didn’t know anyone there. This move became one of the most transformative seasons of her life and now recommends “a bold move like that to anyone graduating!”

A return to Columbia followed, where Sutton worked in real estate development and taught fitness classes while Robert finished law school. During that time, she discovered her passion for fitness, community, and encouraging women. God was preparing her for something bigger.

After praying for a way to combine fitness with building community, the Lord opened the door for Sutton to launch Made Four: A Lagree Studio in Greenville, a space designed to strengthen clients physically, mentally, and spiritually. The name “Made Four” reflects the four-count movement of Lagree and the belief that we are all made for something greater. Sutton’s mission is to help people grow stronger in every way so they can confidently live out what they’re made for.

“Whether our clients are walking through a hard season or chasing big dreams, we want the studio to be a space where they feel supported, strengthened, and seen.”

Today, Sutton loves watching clients walk in unsure and walk out confident and proud. As a business owner, she values creating something meaningful from the ground up and cultivating a team culture rooted in excellence, encouragement, and faith.

Sutton and Robert are enjoying life in Greenville with their daughter, Satcher, and are joyfully expecting a baby boy in November! They love exploring the city, Saturday morning coffee runs, hosting friends for dinner, and investing in their church community at Downtown Pres.

“We’re so thankful for the people God has surrounded us with in this season. Between running a business, chasing a toddler, and preparing for baby #2, there’s not much downtime, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Both are proud members of the standout Class of 2015. When asked what made their class so special, Sutton shared:

“We had a closeness that went beyond friend groups. There was a genuine care for one another that made our years at Ben Lippen full of fun, laughter, and a sense of belonging. I think we were all different in the best way, but united by shared memories, values, and that small-school magic you don’t fully appreciate until it’s gone.”

We love celebrating how our Falcons are making a difference beyond Ben Lippen! To share your story or learn more about getting involved on campus, contact alumnibls@benlippen.com
