This year, all ninth-grade students are participating in Falcon Success, a new program designed to help freshmen build a strong foundation for high school. Research consistently shows that ninth grade is one of the most important years in determining a student’s long-term success. Rather than assuming students already know how to navigate the increased academic expectations and responsibilities of high school, Falcon Success intentionally teaches the skills and habits that lead to success.

Throughout the first semester, students will develop practical strategies for organization, time management, study skills, self-advocacy, communication, academic integrity, wellness, and personal responsibility. Students are learning how to use their time effectively, set goals, seek help when they need it, communicate with teachers, and take greater ownership of their learning.

One tool students are learning to use is the BluePrint, a weekly planning system that helps them thoughtfully manage their entire day—including academics, activities, relationships, rest, and personal responsibilities.

Our goal is bigger than helping students succeed in ninth grade. We want to equip every freshman with the habits, confidence, and independence needed to thrive academically, personally, and relationally throughout high school and beyond.

Falcon Success is an intentional investment in our students—helping them not simply adjust to high school, but learn how to succeed in it.
