Identity in Christ Alone
What if I told you that you are God’s Masterpiece? In a world that is attempting to win your heart by telling you who you are, you must remember one truth. That truth encompasses all we are and all we should believe: our identity is in Jesus alone.
Sure, we’ve heard this tons of times, but what does it actually mean? As our screens consume our minds, words of influencers sow seeds, or hard times drown out our joy, we forget that Jesus has made big promises over our lives! As I walk down the halls of our school and gaze at the declaration “To know Him and to make Him known”, I am reminded “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10) Jesus knows us and we must know him. We can make him known by giving glory to him through our actions and overall, being who he has called us to be.
You are more than what you do.
You are not who people label you.
You are not your failures.
You are not only your successes.
You are God’s Masterpiece.
When you root your identity in things, people, experiences, opportunities, or even a diagnosis; you forfeit the gifts God has given you. You cannot live out all of who you were created to be if you are living as someone else. How amazing is it to know that the Lord has written a purposeful plan for you! What a gift we’ve been given - an affirmation of who we are in Christ Jesus! We are his and his alone.
You are God’s Masterpiece.
