With a heavy heart, we share the passing of Mrs. Bonnie Hathaway on December 20, 2024. Mrs. Hathaway, the beloved wife of long-time Ben Lippen coach and alumnus Bob Hathaway, leaves a legacy of faith, service, and love.

As a dietician at Ben Lippen in both Asheville and Columbia, she lovingly served our students and staff, embodying the spirit of a humble servant who loved the Lord deeply. Alumni fondly recall her warmth, kindness, and famous coffee cake, which became a cherished tradition and a taste of home for many. One alumnus described her as "part of the heart and soul of the mountain."

In honor of Mrs. Hathaway’s memory, we share her treasured coffee cake recipe—a small yet meaningful reminder of the love and warmth she brought to our Ben Lippen family.
