On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”
John 7:37-38
After returning from Thanksgiving break, I added a locked wooden prayer box to my door to welcome prayer requests from students and kick off our Community Prayer Movement. Students are free to add their names to their requests or leave them anonymous. It has been such an honor and privilege to witness the willingness and desire for prayer amongst our student body, and I count it an honor to intercede on their behalf! As the year comes to an end, our Ben Lippen community walks through transition, students prepare for exams, and families anticipate the holiday break; the call is being answered to come to Jesus and drink. Students are pouring out their hearts and filling up on prayer.
Leaning on the Lord in prayer has caused students to let out a deep sigh of relief, drop their shoulders, unclench their jaws, and praise the Lord. Whether I am sitting with students one-on-one reading God's truth or they join me for Community Prayer (every Thursday from 2:45-3:30 p.m.) this extra time of intentional discipleship is helping to keep our community rooted in the truth no matter what is swirling around or within us. The cries to Jesus, despite the noise of the festival filling the air, are being answered throughout this campus as our new wooden prayer box overflows.
Please join me in prayer for our students to continue to believe and seek the true gift of Jesus…and oh what a gift He is!
