Ben Lippen Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

Ben Lippen School is proud to celebrate three members of the Class of 2027 who are named Semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program: William M., Alex M., and Ruien L.

The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes academically talented high school seniors who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. More than 1.2 million juniors from approximately 20,000 high schools entered the 2027 competition by taking the 2025 PSAT/NMSQT. More than 16,000 students nationwide are named Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.

As Semifinalists, William, Alex, and Ruien continue in the competition for approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships that are awarded in spring 2027. To advance to Finalist standing, students complete a detailed scholarship application, maintain an outstanding academic record, receive a school recommendation, submit an essay, and provide SAT or ACT scores that confirm their earlier performance.

Congratulations to William, Alex, and Ruien on this academic achievement! We look forward to celebrating their continued accomplishments!
