Job Title at Ben Lippen: High School Technology Teacher

Share your teaching/subject area experience with us: I teach computer science and programming. My first programming experience was in AP US Government, where, instead of taking notes, I wrote a program on my TI-84 that bounced the DVD logo around the screen. I went on to study electrical engineering in college. Very quickly, I learned that time didn't allow me to perform the necessary calculations by hand (and calculator) to solve even simple circuits. So, my freshman year of college was spent learning to use MATLAB as an automated calculator. In my algorithmic design courses I learned the basics of Java and studied the way computers think and process. Those skills helped in my project-based courses where I learned to program microcontrollers for my team's automated racecar, among many other projects.

Most called upon Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:12

Fun Facts: I love mountain dew! My wife and I have tried over 30 unique flavors in the last 18 months.
