COLUMBIA, S.C. — Ben Lippen School will celebrate Homecoming 2025 on Friday, October 3, by honoring five individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Ben Lippen Athletics during its 85-year history, which began in Asheville, North Carolina, the school’s first location.

Ben Lippen is proud to announce the Class of 2024 and 2025 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees: Steve Gay ’65, Ross Fleming ’11, Leah Austin ’14, Mrs. Christy Lambert, and Jonathan Settle ’02. These individuals have left an indelible mark on Ben Lippen athletics through their skill, leadership, and dedication to the school’s mission.

Steve Gay ’65
A four-sport standout, Steve excelled in baseball, basketball, track, and soccer, earning four varsity letters and being named “Best Athlete” his senior year. His natural talent was on display when he earned third place in the mile at a state track championship despite having no formal training. Steve’s accomplishments reflect the heart of Ben Lippen’s mission and legacy.

Ross Fleming ’11
A true four-sport athlete, Ross distinguished himself in football, track, basketball, and speed & strength, earning numerous honors, including All-State recognition and multiple MVP titles. His competitive spirit and dedication exemplify the Falcon tradition.

Leah Austin ’14
Leah made her mark across basketball, cross country, track & field, and soccer, breaking school track records and earning All-State honors along the way. She also received the Gail Councell Award, showcasing her versatility, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

Mrs. Christy Lambert
Mrs. Lambert has faithfully served the Ben Lippen family for more than 20 years, including 15 years as Athletic Department Administrative Assistant and later as Associate Athletic Director. Her dedication and leadership behind the scenes have been a cornerstone of the school’s athletic program.

Jonathan Settle ’02
Jonathan excelled in football, basketball, and baseball, embodying the values of Ben Lippen’s WIN philosophy—pursuing excellence, demonstrating leadership, and actively following Christ. His accolades include All-State, Region Player of the Year, and Co-MVP in basketball; All-State and MVP in baseball; the Ben Lippen Male Athlete of the Year; and The Patterson Award, the school’s highest athletic honor for males.

Ben Lippen School is honored to celebrate these five remarkable individuals, whose achievements continue to inspire current and future Falcons.
