Staff Story: Mrs. Christa Agee

Title: Lower School Assistant Principal

Mrs. Agee joined the Falcon Faculty in Fall 2020 as a first-grade teacher at our St. Andrews Road campus. She transitioned to Lower School Assistant Principal in the summer before the 2021-22 school year. She grew up in Hopkins, South Carolina, on the southeast side of Columbia. She spent 13 years at Thomas Sumter Academy before going on to be a Gamecock at the University of South Carolina where she earned a B.A. in Psychology as well as a B.A. in Early Childhood Education. She is presently pursuing a master's degree in Education from Columbia International University. A few years after graduating from USC, she met and married her husband, Preston Agee. The couple has two sons: Sanders and Emmett. Sanders is in the lower school at Ben Lippen and absolutely loves it! I come from a large family and have always been very close to my family.

What do you like to do in your free time? Preston and I adore the beach, specifically Edisto Beach. Anything from kayaking or crabbing in the creek to planting our toes in the sand on the beach for the duration is perfect for us and our family. Being on the coast and looking out across God’s creation illustrates so deeply the power of God’s hand. I love being present with my husband and my boys. Being a witness to their lives is one of God’s greatest gifts to me. Teaching has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I am so grateful God has opened the doors for me to join the Ben Lippen family.

What is something most people don’t know about you? Most people do not know that I studied abroad in Perth, Australia. I lived in Australia for 6 months between my junior and senior years of college. The experience was unlike any other and I would recommend it to all college students. The Lord shaped me and grew me in ways I never thought fathomable.

What do you love most about Ben Lippen? What I love most about Ben Lippen is the community. The authentic relationships that exist among faculty and staff cannot be overlooked as soon as you walk on campus. I was overwhelmed by how, through community, the faculty and staff of Ben Lippen have labored in prayer together over their students, the school, each other, and the community at large. My husband and I have so much joy and pride being a part of a school that loves Jesus so deeply and unapologetically.
