I am always amazed at how quickly the school year goes by. As we head into the summer months, it’s a perfect time for students and families to rest and recharge. Summer is also an excellent opportunity to reflect on the past school year and set goals for the upcoming one. So, what can students do during the summer to help them set and achieve these goals? Here are some ideas to help you get started as we begin the summer.
High School Students
- Shadow a Professional Workplace: Explore future career interests by shadowing professionals in fields you are passionate about. This hands-on experience can provide valuable insights and help you make informed decisions about your future.
- SAT/ACT Preparation: Utilize free online resources to practice for these important exams. Consistent practice can significantly improve your scores and boost your college applications.
- Volunteer: Spend time at your local food bank or other community services. Volunteering not only helps others but also builds character and enhances your resume.
- Read: Dive into a good book or several. Reading expands your knowledge, improves your vocabulary, and can be a great way to unwind.
