What makes Ben Lippen a good fit for my family?

Flight Group

Daily, gender-specific small groups where students connect through prayer, chapel discussions, life skills lessons, and meaningful conversations. It’s a time to build community, grow in faith, and support one another in a smaller setting.

Class Details

18:1 Student-Teacher Ratio – Personalized attention in every class

40-Minute Classes – Tuesday through Friday schedule

Class Transitions – Students move between classrooms in the cottages and second floor of the high school

Homeroom Community – Students begin and end each day in the same classroom, creating consistency and connection

Electives

Students have the opportunity to customize their learning by choosing from a variety of electives, including Visual Art, Choir, Band, Strings, Physical Education, and STEM courses.

FAQ

Why fifth grade? I might wait for sixth grade.

Fifth grade is a key entry point to Ben Lippen School: we intentionally add an additional section at this grade level, which we don’t do in any other Middle or High School grade. With a 98% return rate each year, very few spots open up in later grades. If your family is considering joining us, fifth grade is your best opportunity to secure a space and become part of the Ben Lippen community.

What extracurricular activities/clubs are offered?

Are they allowed to interact with the older students?

We are intentional about creating a developmentally appropriate experience for our fifth graders. While fifth and sixth grades share a lunch period, they sit on opposite sides of the cafeteria to maintain age-specific community. Most academic classes are separated by grade, though fifth graders may occasionally be in mixed-grade arts courses. This structure allows for some interaction while still providing a safe and age-appropriate environment.

What Academic Support do you offer?

Fifth graders end each day with a dedicated study hall, giving them time to complete homework or meet with teachers for extra help. In addition to classroom support, they also have access to our Middle School Counselor, Academic Specialist, and the Academic Success Center. This network of support helps ensure each student is equipped to thrive academically and personally.
