Steve & Patty Sark

Steve and Patty Sark came to Ben Lippen in 2015 when Steve accepted the position of International Student Program Director.  Patty has taught Pre-K4 at Ben Lippen since 2020.  Steve and Patty met while studying at Liberty University in 1989 and were married in 1995.  They both hold bachelor’s degrees from Liberty and Steve received his master’s degree in TESOL from Columbia International University in 1991.  Before coming to Ben Lippen, the Sarks worked in China for 22 years in a variety of teaching roles in Tianjin, Shenyang, Kunming, and Shangri-la.  They have four children:  Josiah, Emily, Jacob, and Sarah; the three oldest graduated from Ben Lippen and Sarah is currently a student in the upper school.

Marshall & Jill Coen

The Coens live in House 1B with their five sons: Silas (17), Jude (15), Ira (12), Ezra (10), and Zecharias (9). Married 24 years, they have lived many places as

Marshall served as a US Army Chaplain. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and serves as the Minister of Administration and Discipleship at Spring Valley Baptist Church.

Jill holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tarleton State University and has been homeschooling their children for twelve years. The entire Coen family feels very blessed to serve the students in the International Student Program and hopes to help them feel at home while they are so far from their homes.

Houseparents 2B (Boys)

Will & Jessica Rudelmier

Jessica and Will live in House 2B with their two young children: Maddie, who recently started Kindergarten at Ben Lippen, and Carson, their lively one-year-old who keeps everyone on their toes. Jessica holds a B.S. in Teaching from Columbia International University and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Will is studying Psychology at CIU and brings over 16 years of experience in the welding industry, along with certification as a Welding Inspector. They met while serving together in the U.S. Air Force in Alaska and now bring that same dedication to service and love for family into creating a supportive, structured, and nurturing environment for the boys in their care. They consider it a privilege to be part of the students’ lives during such a formative time and are grateful to be members of the Ben Lippen family.

Houseparents 3B (Girls)

Tim & Connie Lewis

Tim and Connie have served as houseparents at Ben Lippen School since the fall of 2014. They are proud parents of seven, grandparents to ten, and recently became great-grandparents. Connie holds a degree in Bible from Columbia International University, and Tim earned both a B.S. in Business and an M.B.A. from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. With years of life experience and a strong commitment to faith and family, they love creating a warm, supportive environment for the students in their care. Tim and Connie are deeply thankful for the opportunity to invest in students’ lives and truly cherish being part of the Ben Lippen community.
