The primary mission of the college planning and placement office is to find the right college or university for each student, depending on their passions and interests, as well as their academic potential for success. Finding the right college is multi-faceted, starting as early as the freshman year with course selection. The college planning and placement coordinator works one-on-one with each student and their family regarding the variables to consider in selecting a university, when and how to make college visits successful, standardized testing, the application process, and scholarship opportunities.
More than forty college and university admission officers visit BLS annually. In addition, our students have the opportunity to attend college fairs both locally and statewide, as well as event weekends, at which time students can visit specific colleges or universities and meet admission officers, financial aid officers, faculty, and peers.
