National Recognition for Ben Lippen Guitar Program

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the nation’s largest professional organization of music teachers, selected Ben Lippen’s Guitar Program to be included in their series of articles, “50 States of Guitar Class.” Ben Lippen’s program, under the direction of Mr. Chris Essig, was chosen to represent the state of South Carolina in this prestigious series. The article, written by NAfME Council for Guitar Education Chair, Thomas Amariello Jr., highlights the strong academic instruction occurring daily in Mr. Essig’s classroom and the opportunities students have to share their music with the greater Columbia community. Mr. Essig also relays his heart for impacting individual students within a dynamic musical context.
