Why is this needed:  

Improvements to the field would allow games to start later in the evening instead of disrupting classroom instructional time. We would also be able to host playoff games and tournaments in addition to generating revenue from gates and rentals.

Direct Impact: Ben Lippen believes in excellence in all areas. Updating the field would set a stage of excellence for our girls’ softball program in addition to creating a safe environment for students to play and practice in the evening.

Description: 6 lighted tennis courts with bleachers

Why is this needed:  Our boys and girls tennis teams currently have to travel 20 minutes daily for practice, resulting in wear and tear on our bus fleet and inconvenient pick-up for parents. Rental fees run $7,000 a year, and our home court is not branded.

The updated courts have a host of benefits for students and the athletic reputation of the school. Having lights would provide a safe place on campus for students to compete. Rather than having to travel so far for practices and matches, an on-campus facility would increase student participation as well as allow us to host SCISA tournaments and generate additional revenue through USTA. Having this space would also boost community outreach opportunities.

Direct Impact: On-campus tennis courts not only serves our present players, but would also introduce the sport to younger students. Lower school students would have an opportunity to visit and learn more about tennis, as would parents, potential familes, and the surrounding community.

Why is this needed: Enhancing our athletic program starts with a space for all fall and winter sports to practice. This building would save time and money by decreasing the need for off-site facility rentals and eliminate the need to travel off-campus for practice. The needs of our players, coaches, and fans are also essential–the auxillary gymnasium would provide more locker rooms, restrooms, and additional space so practice can continue in the case of inclement weather.

Direct Impact: This building provides a space for both academic and community purposes. PE teachers can host additional classes, and after-school Youth Development programs, as well as community events, can take place here.

Description: The goal of the project is to create a facility to teach conservation of God’s creation through our STEM program.

The space would include a variety of learning opportunities for students, including:

• A greenhouse with traditional plants and aquaponics,
• A small fenced-in farm area with plants and a chicken coop with free-range chickens,
• Pollinator houses to increase biodiversity,
• Bird Houses for observing native species,
• Goats to prevent overgrowth,
• Greenhouses, planters, pollinator houses, and birdhouses at SAR and NE,

Why was it needed: Creating a STEM conservation facility would provide Ben Lippen students with a unique, hands-on experience with caring for God’s creation.  This facility will allow students to experience nature under the guidance of experienced faculty and master teachers from the community. A conservation facility will add value to Ben Lippen’s varied college preparatory academic offerings. Ultimately, this opportunity will show students how to impact others for Christ through conservation. 

Direct Impact: Experiencing the natural world will provide students with the opportunity to interact with living things, appreciate God’s purposeful design of nature, provide life skills, promote teamwork and positive interaction with peers, expose students to potential career opportunities, and gain an appreciation for the natural world that they will carry into adulthood. The students will learn how to serve others and impact the nations for Christ through conservation. Teachers will have a hands-on, enriching environment to teach standards and integrate real-life problem-solving skills into their instruction.

Description: A state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center on Monticello Road Campus would house Fine Arts courses, art galleries, Music Academy studios, a dance studio, a recording studio, a set design and music technology lab, dressing rooms, costume and set storage facilities, and a 1,500-seat auditorium.

Why is this needed: Ben Lippen School currently has no space large enough to house the entire student body for worship, performances, or assemblies. Adding a Performing Arts Center to the Monticello Road Campus would set Ben Lippen School apart as a leader in teaching Fine Arts from a Biblical worldview in addition to providing a professional atmosphere for our students to create music, art, and theater of the highest quality.

Direct Impact: This building will provide dedicated rehearsal spaces for our choir, band, strings, theater, and Music Academy programs and allow us to launch a dance program. The stage and auditorium will increase the professionalism of our theater program. The location of the building on the Monticello Road campus will bring Fine Arts into the heart of the Ben Lippen community and provide middle and high school students with easier access to after-school rehearsals without having to travel to different campuses. Building a 1,500-seat auditorium will provide a space for the entire student body (PK3-12) to gather for worship, performances, and assemblies.

Description: A top-of-the-line Iron Turf field is considered an industry-leading field in safety and durability. 

Why is this needed: This would put us on the same playing field as competitors who already use this facility. The year-round, maintenance-free surface would enable us to expand our offerings and add new programs in addition to hosting summer camps, after-school youth development, and increased community engagement. The field would also make and save money by generating new revenue and decreasing annual maintenance costs.

Direct Impact: A field like this would allow Ben Lippen to have a “Best in Class” facility and provide our community with a surface that is accessible 24/7, 365. In addition, our student athletes will have experience playing on a surface of the highest caliber to prepare them for college and beyond.

Description: 50,000 Sq. foot state-of-the-art turf multi-sport practice facility 

Why is this needed: A new rentable practice space that houses a full court for volleyball and basketball, in addition to a turf-lined field for soccer, football, lacrosse, baseball, and softball, would serve as the new home of the AD office, a golf simulator, storage space, and locker rooms.

Direct Impact: An indoor space allows students from multiple teams to practice year-round, no matter the weather. Instead of paying for an off-site facility, we can rent out this space when not being used.

Description: Originally built in 1988, the gym has hosted many beloved games and teams. However, it needs a little love. A renovation gives us an opportunity to serve three sports in the following order: football, soccer, and lacrosse.

Why is this needed: To keep with the times, we need to paint and brand the facilities, including the walls and floors. New stadium bleachers would increase seating capacity to allow for families and visitors to watch our students play. Two new video score boards would help keep track of points, and acoustic tiles and a new audio system would provide an enhanced viewing experience.

Direct Impact: With a growing student body comes larger crowds and the need for more space, including space to host tournaments and play-offs. Once modernized, the gym could also be used as a showcase location to increase rental revenue.
