High School: Happy Fall Break! Spirit Week and Homecoming Reminders

October 13, 2021 Upper School News

Dear High School Parents and Students,

Fall Break is here!  The students and teachers have earned this break and a long weekend. I hope everyone has a wonderful time off full of family, rest, and of course, the State Fair.  When we return from Fall Break on Monday, we will be returning with Spirit Week.  This is one of my favorite weeks of the school year!  Spirit Week is always a week of excitement, a time for making memories and a chance to show our Ben Lippen school spirit.  Please find attached the flier for Spirit Week and the class bell schedule that has been drawn up for the week.

Below are a few important things to keep in mind as we head into Spirit Week:

  • Included in the attached Spirit Week flier are the dress up days for the week.  Students may dress appropriately for the theme of each day.  If a student does not dress in the day’s theme then they need to dress in campus wear.  If shorts are worn, they must be mid-thigh or longer.  Also, no yoga pants or leggings should be worn.
  • Students are encouraged to stay after school next week and work with their class on their booth for the Homecoming Carnival which takes place on Friday before the football game.  Students are allowed to work on their booths until 7:00PM Monday through Thursday and from 12:00 – 4:00 on Friday.  The Carnival will begin for lower school students at 5:00PM on Friday.  Classes will receive Spirit Week points for participation (based on the percentage of the class that helps build), creativity (judged based on a rubric), and enjoyment by the lower school students (decided by who receives the most votes).  Classes are collecting items from families to help with the building of their booth.  Please be on the lookout for emails from Class Officers to see how you can help.
  • Friday, October 22, is a ½ day and classes for the day will end at 12 p.m.
  • Friday night will be our Homecoming game against Porter Gaud.  With the Carnival starting at 5:00PM, the athletic festivities will begin at 6:30PM with the recognition of Fall Senior athletes.  The game will begin at 7:30PM and a special Athletic Hall of Fame presentation for our inaugural class will take place during halftime.  The night will conclude with a fireworks display immediately following the game.

We have an exciting week ahead, which will hopefully provide many great memories and an opportunity to celebrate the tradition of Ben Lippen School!  If you have any questions about the week please contact the High School office (
