High School Updates: 12.31.22
Dear High School Families,
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and a break full of rest, family, and fun! As a new calendar year approaches, I look back on 2022 and see how the Lord has truly blessed the school, my family, and me individually. The year was definitely full of surprises, but with each surprise came growth and new opportunities. As we wrap up 2022, I am excited to see what 2023 has in store and how the Lord will continue to show up at Ben Lippen School.
As we start the New Year, we are excited to bring on a new academic counselor, Mrs. Jessica Capps, to assist our Guidance Office. Mrs. Capps comes to us with an extensive background in academic and college guidance with Dutch Fork High School, and most recently serving as the Director of School Counseling at Brookland-Cayce High School for the past several years. Mrs. Capps is excited about transitioning into a Christian environment and assisting our students in their academic pursuits. I can’t wait to see how the Lord will use Mrs. Capps at Ben Lippen and in the lives of our students!
Finally, with the end of Christmas Break coming fast and the start of a new semester, here are a few reminders to help with the transition back to school:
- School will resume on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. First day back to school will be an A-Day for classes and we will be running a normal Wednesday schedule (including chapel).
- Schedule Changes: With the start of a new semester, classes may have changed on your student’s schedule. You can access next semester’s class schedule for your student on Renweb. If any changes are needing to be made you can email registrar@benlippen.me. Mrs. Harmon, Mrs. Capps (as we get her up and going), and myself will be checking this email collectively and making changes as quickly as we can.
- MLK Day: There will be no school on Monday, January 16 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
- Winterims: Winterims are right around the corner. The first Winterim will be departing on Saturday, January 14th and most will be starting up on Tuesday, January 17. Please be on the lookout for communication from Winterim leaders on final details regarding your student’s Winterim.
I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year and I look forward to having all the students back in the hallways on Wednesday! If you need anything before then, please do not hesitate to contact the High School Office (gina.dickinson@benlippen.com). Go Falcons!
In Him,
Max Russell
