February 23, 2022 Lower School News

Lower School Grandparents Day: One of our favorite days of the year is coming up on Friday, March 11th – Grandparents Day! Please see the event schedule below. A dismissal permission slip will be sent home in student folders next week. This is to let us know if your child will be leaving with their grandparent or going to regular car line. Grandparents Day is a half-day of school with dismissal at 11:45 AM. There will be no after-school care due to the half-day of school. The bus will run on a half-day schedule.

Explore the Unique Qualities of Gen Z at the upcoming Parent Summit (Thursday, February 24, 8:30-10:00 am at the Jones Center at CIU) Dr. Jennifer Pilpe, Director of Faculty and Academics Grades 9 through 12, will be presenting. Each generation presents characteristics that distinguish it from those previous. Most of today’s students, born between 1997 and 2012, are members of Generation Z (Gen Z) and have grown up in a post-Recession world where technology is as commonplace as sweet tea in the South. Join us as we explore the unique qualities of Gen Z and what characterizes them as students, young adults, and people of faith.
