Middle School: Pediatric Cancer Popper Drive, Reminders, and Important Links!
Dear Middle School Parents,
Good morning! I hope that everyone’s week has started well.
Before going further, I’d like to share how impressed we are with our middle school students, and by the positive example that they are setting within our school community. We have had a fantastic start to the new school year, and their enthusiasm, hard work, and dedication have contributed mightily to help us achieve such a positive experience during our first month together!
As they may have shared with you, a tremendous emphasis has been placed on spiritual growth to kick off our year together. The chapel services and speakers have been amazing, we were all challenged to grow in our relationship with The Lord at Camp Bethel last week, and by now, I’m sure you’ve heard about the awesome testimony that was shared by “The Bear Man” last Friday. It’s obvious that The Lord is at work within the hearts and minds of our student body and faculty. Praise Him for that blessing!
As we look ahead to the coming weeks, I wanted to share a few important notes and reminders with you. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office if you have any questions.
Poppers and Gift Cards for Pediatric Cancer Patients: Yesterday we announced that we will be collecting poppers and $10 gift cards to Subway and Tropical Smoothie Café for families impacted by childhood cancer. This is a schoolwide drive, and donations will be accepted all week. A special presentation will take place at Friday night’s home football game as well. For those who are interested in participating, donations can be dropped off at the Middle School Office all week. Any student who participates will be granted the opportunity to have 2 “jeans days” (Friday wear) next Wednesday and Thursday! A flyer is attached as well.
Jean/Athletic Shorts and Dress Code Reminders: As a friendly reminder, jean/denim shorts and/or athletic shorts/pants are not allowed to be worn to school by students in Grades 5-12 (including Fridays). We apologize for any inconvenience or misunderstanding regarding this Upper School policy. Also, be sure to familiarize your students with the Campus Wear policies, which can be found on pages 21-24 of the Student Life Handbook. Here is a link for quick reference: https://www.benlippen.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/BLUS-Student-Life-Handbook-2021-2022-1.pdf.
The Bear Man Booklet Link: Some students were unable to get a Bear Man booklet after our special chapel last week. Here is a link to that booklet in case students want to print a copy out at home: https://thebearman.com/wp-content/uploads/BearMan_eBook.pdf.
Masks: Please remind your students to bring a mask to school with them each day. Thank you!
Car Line: Please remember to utilize the upper (CIU) parking lot during morning drop off to avoid backups onto the main boulevard, which can be caused by trying to make a left-hand turn toward the Middle School drop-off zone. In the afternoons, please by mindful to keep the pick-up line moving by not parking along the curb once the line of cars begins pulling forward. As students are being picked up and dropped off, please also remember to drive slowly and to pay attention to children who are loading/unloading. Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation in this important area!
In closing, we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with your family in Christian education here at Ben Lippen School! It is a true blessing to serve you and your children!
GO FALCONS,
Corey Thompson
Middle School Principal
