Parent Summit:
Did you know that 97 percent of children aged 3 to 18 have access to the internet at home?
Ben Lippen School recognizes the advantages of internet usage and technology for children; however, there are also safety concerns and challenges. We want to be prepared to educate our children on how to use the internet responsibly. This Parenting Summit aims to educate parents and caregivers on the various social media trends, issues children may face when using the internet, and practical ways to discuss these topics with our children. Topics such as cyberbullying, online privacy, online predators, common apps, setting guidelines, and more will be discussed. Learn the pros and cons of the internet and how to keep your children safe online.
Presented by Emma Rush, Program Manager for the Internet Crimes Against Children Division (ICAC), with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office; she manages the division’s operations and outreach for ICAC and Internet Safety throughout the state of South Carolina.
