SAR Campus reminders: 1.17.23

Please see the reminders below:

MAP Testing:  Next week, January 23-27, we will administer MAP Testing for our kindergarten through 4th grade students. Testing will begin first thing in the morning so please make sure your child gets plenty of rest, eats a good breakfast, and is at school no later than 8:20 each day.  Your child’s teacher will send home details regarding specific dates that your child will test.

Afterschool Clubs: Registration information for 2nd-semester clubs was sent home in your child’s folder last week.  Several of these clubs begin next week.  Please see the attached flyer with dates and contact information for each club. The SAR clubs are listed below.

 

Mondays: Culinary Kids (2nd-4th grades)
Tuesdays: Soccer Shots (PK3 – K)
Wednesdays: Robotics (3rd-4th grades)
Wednesdays: ACRO (PK4-2nd)
Thursdays: Culinary Kids – 3:00-4:15 (PK4-1st grade)
Youth Development: Football Start Date: Week of February 6th (1st-4th grades)

 

Campus Wear Clothes Closet:  As a reminder, the closet is open for shopping on Tuesdays from 2:15-3:15 p.m.  (You are welcome to drop off donations any weekday.)  Also, if you have any hangers that you no longer need, we would love to have them for the closet – adult and child sizes. Thank you for your support of the Campus Wear Closet.

 

2023/2024 Re-EnrollmentRe-enrollment is not an automatic process. You will need to re-enroll each student and pay a $500 deposit to secure your child(ren)’s space(s). If your circumstances have changed and you will not be returning, please select “will not enroll.” Please be sure to click the SUBMIT button at the end. The deadline for re-enrollment is January 31, 2023. After that date, all unsecured seats will be open to the public. International WeekBen Lippen School will celebrate International Week from January 30 – February 3. Lower School students are invited to wear cultural attire from a country of their choice on Friday, February 3. Please see the attached flyer with more information regarding this special week.

Beauty and the Beast: Ben Lippen Fine Arts is excited to present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast featuring students in grades 9-12. Performances will take place on February 9, 10, and 11 at 7 p.m. at the Ben Lippen School Performing Arts Center (500 St. Andrews Road). Tickets will go on sale at BenLippen.com/BeautyAndTheBeast on Monday, January 30, at 9 a.m. for Friends of Fine Arts Members, or Wednesday, February 1, at 9 a.m., for the general public.

Campus Wear / Outerwear Reminder:  In addition to outerwear purchased from Lands’ End, while inside the school building, students may wear jackets and sweaters which are not purchased from Lands’ End. These jackets and sweaters must be a solid color within the BLS Campus Wear color palette and are not required to bear the Ben Lippen logo or promote a BLS team or organization. Company logos (e.g., The North Face) are acceptable. Colors in the Ben Lippen color palette for outerwear include black, grey, green, yellow, and white. Coats/jackets and sweaters worn outside for recess do not have to fall within the BL color palette.

 

Grandparents Day – Save the Date:  Friday, March 10 is our annual Grandparents Day. More information will be sent home in the upcoming weeks.  March 10 is a half day of school.
