Take Good Care of Yourself: Week 1
Each week, I will send you some tips for taking care of your overall health and well-being. You have been created in God’s image and He gives you everything you need for the taking care of you… for stewarding your life in a manner to glorify Him, love others, and enjoy life.
Over the weeks ahead, you will likely experience a variety of challenging emotions, ranging from boredom, apathy, grouchiness, frustration, fear, or sadness. This is all very normal because life as we know it has been turned upside down.
But take heart. God has created us to be resilient. Over and over, we read in Scripture of hardships and how these hardships actually benefit the advancement of the gospel and the faith of Jesus’s followers. May this be what happens in our lives now!
But that doesn’t mean that the days ahead won’t be difficult. They will be, and with this expectation, we can set out to manage our lives in a way that will keep us well-spirited despite the circumstances. The four areas of life that we will focus on each week are your spiritual well-being, your relational well-being, your mental/emotional well-being, and your physical well-being.
I encourage you to get out a postcard and divide it into a grid like the one shown on the video. Set some personal goals for each week based on the tips offered. Put the postcard somewhere where you will see it often. Invite some of your friends to do this with you and so you can encourage one another.
Together we will get through this and come out stronger on the other side!
