The National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the nation’s largest professional organization of music teachers, selected Ben Lippen’s Guitar Program to be included in their series of articles, “50 States of Guitar Class.” Ben Lippen’s program, under the direction of Mr. Chris Essig, was chosen to represent the state of South Carolina in this prestigious series. You can read the complete article here (https://nafme.org/guitar-class-palmetto-state/).
The article, written by NAfME Council for Guitar Education Chair, Thomas Amariello Jr., highlights the strong academic instruction occurring daily in Mr. Essig’s classroom, as well as the opportunities that students have to share their music with the greater Columbia community. Mr. Essig also relays his heart for impacting individual students within a dynamic musical context.
Please join us in congratulating Mr. Essig and our Guitar students for garnering attention from the national music education community! Join us on Tuesday, December 3, at 7 p.m. in our St. Andrews Road Performing Arts Center to experience the Ben Lippen difference and see our Guitar Program for yourself.
