Teaches: High School P.E., High School Health
Other Responsibilities: Assistant Athletic Director, Director of Baseball Operations, Head Varsity Baseball Coach
Coach Brian Larsen started at Ben Lippen in August 2017 as our middle school P.E. teacher after moving from the Charlotte area where he coached baseball at Northside Christian Academy, winning a state championship in 2016, and was the Athletic Director for two years. Prior to Northside, Coach Larsen coached at Dr. Michael Krop High School in South Florida for six years where he led his team to their first district title in over ten years. Over the past 3 years, Coach Larsen’s course load expanded to include high school P.E. and Health.
This summer, Coach Larsen moved into the Assistant Athletic Director, Director of Baseball Operations, and Head Varsity Baseball Coach roles where he will work closely with Athletic Director Coach Shannon Glenn to continue to uphold a Christ-like culture as well as a commitment to excellence in Ben Lippen Athletics. Speaking of his time at Ben Lippen, Coach Larsen says he “loves the opportunity here at Ben Lippen to pour into the lives of our students.”
Coach Larsen has been married for 16 years to Kelli who also works at Ben Lippen as the assistant principal for the lower school. They have two amazing children: Jaelyn, age 9, and Devin, age 6. Coach and Mrs. Larsen are all about their kids and enjoy spending as much time as possible together as a family.
When asked about what Coach Larsen like doing in his free time, he had this to say. “We love going to the mountains as we have family there. We love doing things with our kids, whether it’s at the park, movies, swimming, or just playing in the backyard.”
Why do you choose to work at Ben Lippen? My wife and I chose BL three years ago for several reasons. Working at a Christian school prior to Ben Lippen truly changed my life. It helped me look even closer at my relationship with the Lord. I want that for my children as well. Now, after working here for 3 years, I have made amazing friendships with faculty and families who mean the world to me and have continued to help me grow in my walk with the Lord.
