Mrs. Cox, who has been teaching at Ben Lippen since 2005, not only teaches but is the Yearbook Advisor & the Reading Break Coordinator for the school. She and her husband, Ken, have been married for 36 years and they have two sons. Both of Mrs. Cox’s boys are Ben Lippen 13-year gang members meaning they spent kindergarten through 12th-grade at Ben Lippen. Her son Josh is married to Brittany, who is also a Ben Lippen grad; they have gifted Mrs. Cox with “the two cutest granddaughters in the world, Emory and Ella James.” Mrs. Cox’s son Braden is married to Chandler and they are the proud parents of Franklin the Goldendoodle. In her free time, Mrs. Cox loves reading, spending time with her family, and watching football.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I’m addicted to Sports Talk and Stand-up Comedy radio stations. Also, although I grew up on a farm in Ohio, I am a fan of Philly sports.
What are you passionate about? Reading and helping kids find a book that they can lose themselves in.
Why do you choose to teach at Ben Lippen? I can’t imagine teaching at a place where I couldn’t incorporate my faith into content.
What is your favorite part of your school day? Reading Break!! Having time in the middle of the day to relax and simply read a book for pleasure makes me happy!
What do you love most about teaching your students? Getting to know all of their quirks and personalities and watching them conquer writing challenges
