Teaches: Geometry (Honors) and Pre-Calculus (Honors), Trigonometry
Mrs. Linda Hodges has been teaching at Ben Lippen long enough to have taught several of our faculty and staff members! Her love of math and teaching works perfectly in tandem with the care she shows each of her students.
Mrs. Hodges is married to Igou Hodges, who is retired from teaching at CIU and is a Ben Lippen grad from the days when the school was located in Asheville. They have three grown children all of whom graduated from Ben Lippen. Daniel, Class of 2005, currently resides in Columbia with his wife Rebekah and their three children: Josh, Alayna, and Isaiah. Daniel is working on his Ph.D. Jonathan, Class of 2008, is married to Charity, received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and is working as a research scientist in fire safety with Jensen-Hughes. Elizabeth, Class of 2010, is currently in school at Sherman College of Chiropractic.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? I like to read, play games and talk with people in my free time. A few of my favorite authors are Clive Cussler, Catherine Coulter and Davis Bunn.
What do you love most about Ben Lippen? One of the things I love most about Ben Lippen is the people. My colleagues are amazing men and women who love the Lord and are proficient in their disciplines. The BL families form a strongly knit community and it is a joy to come to “work” each day to be with the students God has put in my classes.
What do you love most about teaching math? I love teaching math. To see the light of understanding that comes when a student comprehends a concept, or to hear exclamations of excitement as a “new” pattern is discovered brings me great joy and fulfillment. But even greater than that joy are the times I have been able to pray with students over the years. It truly is my privilege and pleasure to be a part of the BL family.
