Programming Club Wins Congressional App Challenge

Our game programming club, made up of students Wendell, Adelle, Khanh, & Kira and coached by Mr. Ríos, submitted and won 1st place in The Congressional App Challenge 2020, one of the top programming competitions for high schools in the country!

The group was recognized by the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., through Zoom meetings. They also had a chance to demo their game ‘Canute’ among other winners around the country. Their app will be on display for an entire year in Washington, D.C.!

Rep. Joe Wilson wanted to meet the South Carolina winners and invited our students to take a picture with them this week! Congratulations to Adelle, Khanh, Kira, and Wendell!
