When Jais Ward’s coaches at Florida’s IMG Academy left the school, she decided to find a new school–one that mentored her athletically and spiritually.
Originally from South Carolina, Jais was excited to come back home and explore what Ben Lippen had to offer. She chose the school because, according to her, of its “great reputation” and “strong academics,” in addition to familiar coaches Fran Ricks and Bailey Harris. It had everything she was searching for.
“All around, it seemed like a good fit,” she said.
Switching schools can be tough on students, especially for rising juniors like Jais. However, Ben Lippen’s “strong community” helped her feel more at home on Monticello Road. She said biblical values are “woven into all aspects of the school, which creates a strong social setting.” The tight-knit student community reinforces her belief that she made the right choice.
“It is a welcoming community, as well, so making friends was not too difficult,” she said.
Moreso, Jais has immersed herself in biblical studies. While she has regularly attended church with family and was even part of a prayer group, this was her first time studying Christianity in an academic setting. As the school’s academics live up to her expectations, the support of her coaches, counselors, and teachers has helped her in her goals for college, career, and beyond.
