The Hamner Family

Coach Eric Hamner joined Ben Lippen’s staff this past summer as Lower School P.E. Teacher and Head Coach of the Cross Country and Track & Field program. Once school started in August, Coach Hamner’s oldest child, Sawyer, became one of the very first students in our new Pre-K3 class. Read below to get the scoop from Eric’s wife, Carrie, on why their family chose Ben Lippen School.

What do you love about Ben Lippen School? We relocated from Ohio and instantly found community and support. We had people praying for us, sending us meals, offering to babysit, and even helping us find jobs.

We want our children to have a foundation in Christ from people who are disciples of Christ. We were hesitant to start our 3 yr old in PK3, worried that it might be too soon, but he has skyrocketed to to the next level with his vocabulary and motor skills, and he is building friendships, memorizing scriptures, and singing new songs. It is so obvious that his teachers truly love him and the Lord.

We also love that the athletic programs are founded in Christ seeking to use them to glorify God and worship Him.

Why did you choose Ben Lippen for your child? It became very clear in the interview process and by everyone we met that Ben Lippen was the family we needed to be a part of. After all, it takes a village. The academics are top notch, the sports are excelling, the Kingdom is growing, and the community is loving.

In what ways have you seen your child grow in his faith as a result of his experiences at Ben Lippen? My son sings songs about Jesus, tells us about Bible stories, and has told us that God will keep him safe because He loves him and will protect him. It’s so wonderful that faith is integrated in his education everyday and is constantly growing.

What is the one word your family would use to describe the Ben Lippen experience? Extraordinary

What would you tell other parents who are considering enrolling their children at Ben Lippen School? What are you waiting for? Who is teaching our kids and what they are learning while we are at work is a top priority in our decisions and finances. They will be loved and learn about Jesus’ love that never fails. They will learn to excel in their academics because they will be surrounded by those striving for greatness.
