The Jordan Family

Why did you make the switch to Ben Lippen School? We knew that by the time our daughter was in high school, we did not want to have her in the local public school, but we did not know what options we had. We thought about homeschooling but then we found Ben Lippen. We went to an Open House, and loved listening to each teacher talk about how his or her subject taught at an academically-challenging level while centering on Christ – from English to Engineering. The clincher was walking into the middle school science lab and finding a hand-painted mural of the creation story covering two walls! We thought, “Why wait until high school? Let’s start her at Ben Lippen now!”

Was there anything specific about Ben Lippen that influenced your decision to enroll? The faculty and administration were more than welcoming – they showed how clearly they cared about the gospel shining through their own lives as well as in the lives of their students. While walking through a 4th grade classroom, we found a wall of missionary prayer cards. The teacher said they took time every week to pray for their missionaries, which is important to us and to our youngest daughter.

What makes the 5th grade so special for your child? The freedom to learn about God’s Word and time worship Him in weekly chapels.

What campus does your child attend and what makes that campus unique and special to your family? The SAR campus is a sweet community that loves and cares for our daughter!

Has Ben Lippen School lived up to your expectations? Ben Lippen has exceeded our expectations. We love the thoughtfulness that goes into planning a special overnight trip for the fifth graders as they prepare to be promoted to sixth grade, and that allows them to spend intentional time with the other campus, since they will be one campus the following year.

How has Ben Lippen helped your children thrive? The teachers don’t see just the homework turned in or the grades obtained, but they look at the whole person. They encourage our children in their walks with the Lord. They speak well of our children to them, to us, and to others.

What advice would you give families who are considering Ben Lippen School? Go to an Open House and meet the teachers. Listen to their curriculum plans. Meet with the administration and ask them your questions. Talk with the coaches and the fine arts teachers. You will see different people with different personalities who share the same goal: raising thinkers and leaders who honor Christ – with excellence.

What do your children like best about Ben Lippen School? “Everything! There’s nothing I don’t like. When I go to school I love seeing the people – my friends and my teacher. I like learning new things. Most of all we get to learn about Jesus.”
