Why did you make the switch to Ben Lippen School? We were disappointed in the liberal/socialist agenda being pushed in the public school and frustrated by the “teaching to tests” and retesting till they got scores they needed for their school ratings.
Was there anything specific about Ben Lippen that influenced your decision to come here? Yes, Ben Lippen’s focus on a personal relationship with Jesus. At least one parent must be a believer which creates a community of shared values and beliefs.
What grade was your child in when you made the switch and did her grade influence your decision at all? Our daughter started in 9th grade. We really wish we’d have known about Ben Lippen sooner; we’d have had both of our girls here if we had.
What campus does your child attend and what makes that campus unique and special to your family? She’s on the Monticello Road campus. We’ve had a major addition there, but the proximity to CIU and opportunity for dual enrollment classes are so nice.
Has Ben Lippen School lived up to your expectations? Was there anything that pleasantly surprised you? It has far exceeded our expectations. The best surprise is the family environment where we felt welcomed and included immediately. And so did she!
How has BLS helped your child thrive? My daughter was painfully shy and reserved when she came to BLS, but that changed within months. My friends cannot believe the complete transformation she’s made. I believe it was being surrounded by people who loved and accepted her for who she is.
What advice would you give families who are considering Ben Lippen School? Come visit the school, talk to other BLS families. Come to a football game. You will not find a more family-oriented Christian, private or other school. BLS is a unique and special environment. You have to experience it to understand.
What does your child like best about Ben Lippen School? She enjoys sports and being part of teams, the friendships she’s built. She also has some special teachers and staff she’s grown very close to.
